Fire Sucks!

Mr. F is such a dork. He may or may not have started a small kitchen fire in the apartment in Salinas. He moved a pan on the stove (dirty pan with grease in it), then he went down to the office to talk to the apartment manager about fixing their dryer. When he came back to the apartment the smoke alarm was going off and the range hood was on fire, as was the dirty pan. The wall behind the stove is charred from smoke.

They have no renter's insurance, and I am not sure that they need it in this case, but getting it should be pretty high on G's (his roomie) priority list now.

MEN!!!

Speaking of fire...my family in San Diego is safe from the fires for now. Thank God! I talked to my Aunt and my brother yesterday, and the fires are North of them with the winds blowing North East, and South of them, with winds blowing those fires South West. They live in La Mesa. I also have an Aunt and Uncle that live in Temecula, and they, too, are safe from the fires. The fire that is close to them is in Ontario, but that is pretty far North, so hopefully my family will remain unaffected. It is crazy and freaky. My brother can not go to work for now, because the 56 is closed at the 15, and since he lives in La Mesa and works in Escondido, there is just no route to get him there. It is all pretty freaky. I really hope that they can get these fires out real soon. There is such a great amount of loss already!!!

Pumpkin Patch Excursion

We went on a field trip today with the Little one's preschool class and we had such a good time. We went on a hayride, then we fed some animals, then we went through a corn maze, then the kids went on some slides. Then we walked (haha, more like ran) through a haunted barn. Then we picked out our pumpkins.
Sorry that was such a horribly boring story, but I am exhausted. It has been a busy day!

Crazy: what I am going to be.

Today is Homer's second day off-track from Kindergarten. He is driving me crazy. I have no idea what I am going to do with him at home all day. He expects more stimulation than I am used to, especially since he has started school.

From the moment he wakes up, and about thirty times more throughout the day, I get the pleasure of hearing, "Momma, what can we do today?" And not in a sweet voice, more in a whiny, bored voice. Even when we go somewhere, as soon as we get home he is bored again.
I know it is his vacation time, but COME ON!!!!! We did our vacationing in the summer.

Also, his coach has canceled soccer practices for the rest of the season because it is getting dark too early, so that activity outlet is now gone. At least we still have games. Hmph.

Sorry, I know it sounds like I am complaining, and I am, I guess. I love the kids, and being able to spend all my time with them, really, I do. But I just had to get that out. We are going to make it through the next three weeks just fine. I guess I am lucky that he is not on a traditional school year, and I do not have to deal with this for three straight months. ;)

I just need to think of some inexpensive activities. Any ideas?

It Never Fails

Did you know that Freeport is actually a town. I didn't. I thought it was just a street. I lived off of Freeport for a couple of years and I had never heard of Freeport the town until I went through it yesterday. Population: 125. It is a cute little town on the levy road, and I was going to Clarksburg...another town very close to Sacramento that I never knew existed. Hmph.
Anyways. Homer had a soccer game out at Clarksburg school yesterday morning. More than half of his team did not show up, so they had no subs and they had to play the whole game, which to a five year old is a lot.
The point of my blog: I am a coffee person. I like to drink it in mass amounts. It never fails. Every Saturday morning I drink too much coffee and end up at a soccer field with no bathroom. I thought I was going to pass out, I had to go pee sooooo bad! You will be happy to know that I did not wet myself though. It was close. haha
The End.
