Useful Information

In case you want to know how far it is from one side of Highway 50 to the other side...

I am pretty sure there is a sign in Ocean City, MD that tells you the distance to Sacramento. At one time the two signs were different, the one in Sacramento saying that the distance was 3037 miles. Some n00bs at the sign factory made an 00ps, I suppose.

Happy Wordless Wednesday. For more participants go here.

There is definitely a sign on each end.

I wrote about it not so long ago here.

I haven't driven Highway 50 end to end, though I have done I-80 all the way across.

Whoo-wee. I will take your word for it - I am not any fun on road trips.

In fact, I zonk out after 20 minutes into the ride, and when I'm awake - I 'm just trying not to get car sick.

lol - but then again, it might be different in an RV...! Someday!

Happy WW!

Thank goodness it doesn't also note Last Gas Stop for 3073 miles. ;)

As long as it's clear how far I'm suppose to be going. That is a long trek. With gas prices don't think I'd make it.

Happy WW!

Odd that the first post I would read of yours would have a sign that ties into my life from both sides of the country. I spent time with relatives in the Placerville area as a a kid. 15 years later I was escorted out of Ocean City, Md by the police for being a loser vagrant hippie with no money in my pocket. They booted me out of the cruiser on the other side of the bridge that ran over Herring Creek and said "see ya". I waited a few minutes and then crossed US 50 and hitch hiked back into Ocean City. It was easier getting by in OC on no money than in DC with no money. I did find work as a Mr Softee and went back to college that Fall with some jingle in my pocket.

I notice catsmyth says there is a sign at both ends. I am pretty sure there did not used to be one back in the 70s when I hung out there most every summer. But then I was not much into looking at signs. The ladies in bikinis were what I watched out for.
